Answer to Frost 
The Frostie Frost Alarm
is unique in its functionality and design. It is designed to minimise
the damage suffered by frost - which causes leaf cells to freeze
and rupture.
The Frost Alarm automates
this task by monitoring both the temperature and humidity. When
preset limits are reached, the Frost Alarm activates equipment,
such as heaters or misters, to assist in preventing the frost from
damaging key crops. The Frost Alarm is a self contained unit that
can operate in sloped areas where 'micro-climates' prevail.

As many farmers who are
familiar with frost know, frost damage is not limited to cold conditions.
Humidity is also a factor in the prevailing conditions for a crop
damage event.
Evaporation can cool
leaf surfaces below the ambient temperature, leading to an onset
of frost. When conditions are very dry, the Frost Alarm raises the
alarm temperature to compensate for the increased evaporation.
