Automated
Intelligent Fertigation
The FertGARD is a small
yet powerful unit designed for fertigation control. The FertGARD is
primarily intended to be an economical, sophisticated, stand alone
fertigation controller for small agricultural operations.
Technology
that works
Fertigation is the process
whereby fertilizer is applied lightly with each irrigation cycle
to "micro-feed" a landscape.
Fertigation techniques
are central to the production of crops. It is critical to be able
to accurately monitor, log, automate and control these flows. Also,
detecting and responding to irregular flows before unnecessary waste
or damage to crops, pumps or other equipment occurs, is critical.
The FertGARD responds
to these needs efficiently. The unit is able to start and stop fertigation
automatically, shutdown irrigation in the event of system failures
(such as excessive or inadequate rate of water-flow, or external
alarm override), and log/monitor the long term and per cycle water
usage. The FertGARD does this by directly driving the valve that
controls the injection of fertilizer.
Practical
Features
The FertGARD has many
features to ensure simple and smooth operation for the end user.
These include:
- A large and easy to read LCD display
- Simple operation with straightforward menus
- Logging of up to 960 flow rates and alarm events, with time/date
stamps
- Automatic fertigation when suitable irrigation level detected
- Ensures adequate irrigation flow before and after fertigation
periods
- Pulse output to switch 2 or 3 wire DC solenoid or relay
- Input for flow meter, operation up to 1 Hz
- Micropower consumption
- Weather resistant
Small and efficient
The FertGARD is a powerful
unit capable of intelligent irrigation in regard to flow control.
Furthermore, the FertGARD is an inexpensive unit that provides the
full range of functionality that would be expected of more elaborate,
and therefore expensive, systems.
With its low cost, low
maintenance and intelligent operation, the FloGARD is designed to
seamlessly integrate into agricultural operations, ensuring superior
results and maximising efficiency.
